Unfortunately  and yet again contrarily to the weather forecast rain and cloud came in on us while photographing this route. The cloud wasn’t interested in lifting much above 900m. It was very windy and my guess is that the wind was holding the cloud down and constantly blowing in the remnants from torrential downpours on Ben Alder to the west. We did wait around on most tops for a break in the cloud but it was never to come on the highest – Beinn Udlamain. Geal Chàrn was under cloud all the way to the summit, it did eventually break so we descended back down to Coire Fhàr taking what photos we could. We came of the hill via Allt Coire Fhàr rather than the usual descent directly down the northeast shoulder of Geal Chàrn.
