Cairngorm 4000's

Location – Start Glenmore Lodge, Sgurr an Lochain Uaine, Cairn Toul, Lairig Ghru, Ben Macdui, Cairngorm, Glenmore Lodge. Clockwise or anti clockwise.

While we were taking the photographs for this virtual  route, we decided to take a more direct line from Ben Macdui into the Corrie trying to miss the bolder field on the normal route to the left. This route ended up a bit to steep -the route plotted on the Viewranger map would be better.
Also the line we chose to ascend Cairn Toul on the day of the photographs would not be the quickest. We chose this because the scrambling is better on the left hand shoulder of the Corrie, again the route shown on the Viewranger map below would be quicker. If following this route in either direction the climb/descent in/out of the Lairig Ghru / Cairn Toul is very steep. An alternative route would be to take the path north of the Devil’s Point.
